Revamping old frames
I found this picture frame at the thrift store for 50 cents. I loved the color of the frame and I thought the owl was cute, even though I knew I wouldn't leave the owl on for long.
First thing I did was re-upholster the board. I ripped off the paper back and bent the nails that held the board in place-upwards.
Then I just removed the board and ripped off the old fabric. The board had some foam attached to it.
I cut my new fabric to my desired length and took out my trusty staple gun and stapled the fabric to the board. Make sure you pull the fabric so that it's nice and tight on the board when you staple it.
After getting the fabric on, I just slid the board right back in the frame and bent the nails back into place.
Next comes the chicken wire! I spray painted it white before I actually attached it to the frame. (Just a thought, I went to one hardware store and they sold chicken wire for $12. I instantly thought that was way too much and went to a different hardware store and found the exact same length and everything for $5. I'm going to take a guess and say if you spend more than $5 for some chicken wire, you're getting ripped off.)
I just used clippers to cut the wiring to my desired length and width. I did cut it a little wider than what I actually needed, but after stapling the wire to the frame I clipped off the excess wire.
